Abstract

1468337 Mechanical presses EXPERIMENTAL NI INST KUZNECH-PRESSOVOGO MASHINOSTROENIA 5 Nov 1975 45868/75 Heading B5F In a crank-operated press with a linkage 10, 11 between the crank-shaft 6 and press-slide 4, a jack 14, 15 re-sets the linkage to produce working strokes of the slide, the piston 14 being connected to the linkage while the cylinder which is movable to avoid overloading the slide is articulated to the press frame 1. A spring 17 acts on the piston 14 to drive the pivot m connecting the connecting and coupling rods 10, 11 from the working position n, Fig. 5, to a position l between which and a point k it oscillates with the crank-shaft 6 rotating and the slide 4 raised against a stop by a counter balance piston 26 which acts permanently on the slide. The pivot m is returned to the working position n by fluid pressure applied to piston 14. The cylinder is connected to the plunger 23 of a shock absorber the plate springs 24 of which deflect to protect the slide.
