937,140. Continuous casting. CONCAST A.G. April 6, 1962 [April 6,1961], No. 13289/62. Class 83 (1). A device for oscillating the die of a continuous casting unit comprises two working cylinders 6 with pistons 7 which support the die table 4 and are located within end frames 2. Separate control cylinders 8 connected to each working cylinder 6 by conduit 11 have three pistons therein on a common piston rod, one end of which is articulated, within guides 20, to a control lever 12 and the other end biased by spring 21. One end of each control lever carries a feeler roll 14 which follows a cam disc 15 attached to a driven shaft 16. The other end of the lever carries an adjustable slide 13 which bears against part 13<SP>1</SP> within the frames 2 and which is provided with a scale. With the rotation of the shaft and cam disc 15 pivoted movements are imparted to the control lever 12 which reciprocate the pistons in control cylinders 8 and permits pressure fluid to be admitted to and discharged from working cylinders 6. The die table is thus raised and lowered, its movement in turn effecting movement of the pistons in the central cylinders by further pivoting of the levers 12 about the slide 13. The feeler rolls 14 are maintained in contact with the cam discs 15 by the spring 21, and the stroke of the control pistons, for a given shaft speed, may be varied by adjustment of the slide 13 along the scale.
