Fire-extinguishing by pulverulent material; guns and the like, projecting fireextinguishing charges from. -Relates to fire-extinguishers of the type in which fire - extinguishing material b is projected from a metal cylinder a by the explosion of powder c on the manual operation of a spring - loaded detonating- striker. The striker n is carried by a bolt m sliding in a cylinder k and provided with a transverse pin o, which is guided in slots p and is engaged by a spring q. The upper part v of the bolt m is connected by a spring buckle u and a rod t to a pull-ring w. In operating the device, the ring w is pulled out until the buckle u reaches the widened portion r of the cylinder k and thus becomes disengaged by spring action from the bolt m, which is then forced down by the spring q to cause the striher u to explode the cap f and powder c.
