Abstract

145,764. Hayes, G. H. Sept. 21, 1915, [Convention date]. Spring shackles.-To provide a yielding connexion between the frame of a vehicle and the forward springs, a spring shackle is provided consisting of members 5<1>, 8 pivoted together at their rear ends 7 and at their forward ends to the spring 4 and the frame 2 respectively. A bolt 10 passes through members 5', 8 and has threaded ends and nuts 11, the part between the members being surrounded by a spring 12, and that part beneath the member 5<1> by a lighter spring 13.
