187,875. Moon, W., Martin, W. G., and North British Rubber Co., Ltd. Dec. 3,1921. Spring shackles.-Relates to shock absorbents for road vehicles of the type having a rubber disc interposed between the end of the leaf spring and the vehicle, and consists in clamping the disc C between compression plates A, D by means of bolts M which pass outside the disc. The com. pression plate D is supported by the bolts M passing through end-bars B<1> of a shackle B connected to the spring, while beneath the plate D bears a nut F on the end of a rod J supported from the frame bracket E by a bolt N passing through a slot K in the shackle B. The rod J may have a shoulder J' bearing on the plate A, on which the end-bars B' bear.
