Abstract
442,621. Hinges. M.G. CAR CO., Ltd., CHARLES, H. N., and COUSINS, H. E. C., Pavlova Works, Abingdon-on-Thames. Dec. 29, 1934, No. 37256. [Class 65 (ii)] [See also Group XXXII] For pivotally connecting an eye of a member to another member, particularly applicable in a spring suspension for vehicles, a V-shaped link is formed of two parts 12 which can be detachably connected together by a bolt 14 and distance sleeve 15 to provide a forked end to co-operate with the eye 18 which may form part of the brake disc of a vehicle wheel. A pin passes through the eye and forked end and engages a bush situated in the eye, resilient annular packings 21 being disposed between the eye and the forked end, such packings being compressed when the two parts 12 of the V-shaped links are secured together. The pin as shown is provided with a threaded part 16 adapted to engage a co-operating threaded part on the bush 17 which latter may be rigidly secured to the eye or to the pin. Lock nuts 24 and grease nipple 25 may be provided.
