458,337. Vehicle spring-suspensions. PORSCHE GES., DR. ING. H.C.F., 24, Kronenstrasse, Stuttgart, Germany. March 24, 1936, No. 8779. Convention date, April 9, 1935. [Class 108 (ii)] In vehicle suspensions of the kind in which two swinging links carry the wheel and in which the universal ball-joints between the links and the wheel carrier comprise spherical headed bolts mounted in the wheel carrier the upper link is arranged in connection with a torsion spring and the lower link in connection with a one-way acting damper so that the reactive pressures on the bolts is borne by the main parts of the sockets on the links. The wheel carrier 7 is provided with bolts 8a, 9a the spherical heads 8, 9 of which are embraced by sockets 10, 11 on the ends of lower and upper links 12, 13 arranged to swing in the direction of travel. The upper link 13 is connected to a torsion bar spring 29 through a journal 17 arranged in the biassing casing 23 while the lower link 12 is connected through its journal 16 with a resilient shaft 60 driving a one-way damper 61. The sockets 10, 11 of the links are provided with screwed members 14, 15 which take the pressure so relieving the pressure from the bearing surfaces of the annular surfaces 10<1>, 11<1>.
