Abstract
145,738. Alveberg, J. J., (Assignee of Braarud, H.). March 6, 1918, [Convention date]. Hooks.-The lower block 6 of boat-lowering gear is connected to the boat by means of a rotatable disk 1 provided with a notch 4 acting as a hook. The disk is secured to the keel of the boat by the rod 2, upon which is mounted a pawl or trigger 8 engaging a notch 7 on the disk 1. By releasing the pawl, the weight of the boat causes the disk 1 to rotate and disengage the falls. The disk 1 may be made heavier on one side to assist disengagement and the pawl 8 may be either spring or gravity controlled.
