Abstract

175,751. Wise, G. S. Nov. 20, 1920. Anchors.-An anchor for ships and buoys comprises an open triangular, rectangular, or square frame A provided at the bottom with one or more flukes B and a shank C to which the rope E is connected, pivoted to the top of the frame. The pivotal movement of the shank is limited by stops c<2> thereon and a lug a<2> on the frame. In a modification, the shank comprises two levers riveted together, or a bent lever having a fork connection with the outside of the ears a. The shackle D may be replaced by an evebolt pivoted to the shank on a vertical axis.
