Submarines, trapping; torpedo nets.-Movable nets for locating and indicating the presence of submarines are connected to the supporting-buoy &c. by coupling members capable of being disengaged by a pull on a net. t. The coupling member comprises spring jaws a, b closed by the action of a lever e; it is fixed in the line d, d<1> extending from the buoy to the net and an operating cord h is fixed to the lever e and passed' through an eve g on the buoy. When the net is displaced by a submarine, the cord h pulls over the lever e and disengages the net.
