Fluid-pressure.-An anti-leak device for the " brakes-off " position of the piston-rod 3 of a compressed-air brake-cylinder is arranged externally of the cylinder and consists of a rubber, leather, &c. ring 9 on the cross-head 10 which at the inner end of the stroke seats against an annular projection 8 on the cover 6 of the stuffing-box. The positions of the ring and projection may be reversed.
