Abstract

1450625 Distillation apparatus SECO MASCHINENBAU GmbH & CO KG 29 Jan 1974 [2 Feb 1973] 3961/74 Heading BIB A distillation apparatus comprises a plurality of superimposed annular steam heated plates 30-34 each having an associated rotatable arm 38 carrying scraper blades 39 inclined at an angle to the axis of the arm. In use the solution to be purified is fed in through line 41 and flows downwardly through the chamber 35 in cascade manner as indicated by line 48. The residue is discharged into channel 43 which contains screw conveyor 44 and may be heated by steam from inlet 46. The vapour is discharged through outlet 47 to a condenser (not shown) and the heat extracted in the condenser may be used in heating the plates 30-34.
