Carburetted - a i r lamps. - The carburettor 1 of a carburetted-air lamp is packed with lumps 2 or chips of a porous stoney substance, such as infusorial earth mixed with a binding-material, and is provided with a drain cock 3 for removing surplus fuel. In some cases, the porous lumps are formed by burning a mixture of clay or other mineral substance with finely divided fuel.
