Composition fuel.-Coal-dust, charcoal, or like carbonaceous material is mixed with palm-nut waste or the waste of nuts of other oil-bearing trees, after the oil has been extracted, and with earth, loam, or clay impregnated with a solution of potash or common washing-soda; the mixture is stamped, pressed, or otherwise formed into blocks and allowed to dry. Oil-bearing nut trees, the products of which may be used in making the fuel, are the crab or carapa tree, shea-nut, and coco-nut trees. A suitable clay impregnated with potash is that. employed, in the native manufacture of potash from the palm tree, for making the ovens in which the trunks of palm trees are burnt, the sap from the trunks being absorbed by the clay.
