Abstract

222,890. Trent, W. E. Oct. 6, 1923, [Convention date]. Materials for making coke.-Metallurgical coke free from sulphur is obtained by suspending finely ground coal in water, intimately mixing therewith finely ground limestone agitated in oil, and heating the mixture. Four tons of coal containing 1-1.5 per cent sulphur are mixed with one ton of fuel oil containing sufficient limestone to form 1-3 per cent of calcium sulphide in the coke.
