Abstract

1443266 Valves THOMSON INTERNATIONAL CORP 17 April 1974 [18 April 1973 9 May 1973] 16850/74 Heading F2V A thermally-responsive valve for use in a car cooling system has a closure member 14 cooperating with a seat portion on a bridge element 10 supporting one part 44 of a thermallyresponsive actuator 42 guided in a second element 12, the elements being formed from thin metal and each having a horizontal and a vertical annular portion to form a rigid flange 22, 30 on assembly. The flanges may be soldered welded or brazed together and the actuator is received in a sleeve 48 attached to a further closure member 66 controlling a by-pass 64. In a second embodiment, the sleeve and by-pass closure member are omitted.
