1395210 Making valves SAAB-SCANIA AB 11 Dec 1972 [10 Dec 1971] 57127/72 Heading B3A [Also in Division F2] A valve seat is formed on a corrodible metallic body 1, such as cast iron, by thermal spraying of a seating material on to a base surface 12 of the body or by welding or soldering a seat ring to the base surface both of which are designed to be non-corrodible such as aluminiumbronze, and thereafter machining to form sides 9, spraying or dip-laquering the body and seat with a corrosion-resistant plastics material 7, 7<SP>1</SP> and finally machining the seat to form a sealing surface 6 which co-operates with a valve member 3.
