Abstract

1428618 Valves SOC ADAR 19 March 1974 [10 April 1973] 12224/74 Heading F2V In a valve having a fluid-pressure balanced piston 4 slidable in a seat 5 formed with flow control apertures 7 the seat is sealed relative the body by a gasket 14 and relative a cap 2 by an 0-ring 15 which can accommodate expansion of the seat. A gasket 12 seals the cap relative the housing. Frusto-conical surfaces 8, 9 on the piston seat on similar surfaces 10, 11 on the seat in valve closed position. The 0-ring 15 is formed by a torroidal coil with adjacent turns in contact. An inner non- ductile metal part-circular envelope and a similar ductile outer envelope preferably enclose the coil.
