Abstract

1486934 Valves SAAB-SCANIA AB 4 Dec 1974 [10 Dec 1973] 52345/74 Heading F2V In a rotary plug, cock or butterfly valve one of the valve member and seating member has a lining of metallic molybdenum bound to the hard metallic base of that member and softer than the hard metallic other member. In a ball valve the molybdenum layer 21 is applied to each of a pair of seating rings 14 each of which is backed by an asbestos seal 15, a backing ring 16 and a spring 17. The molybdenum may be applied by plasma spraying or gas or electric welding and is subsequently machined.
