Abstract

1465101 Pouring nozzles for metallurgical vessels STOPINC AG 16 April 1974 [17 April 1973] 16563/74 Heading F4B An orifice block and bush are held in place and located in a bottom pour metallurgical vessel by a device adjacent the edges of the opening in the vessel shell through which the bush is replaced. The holding and locating device is an annular member secured to the vessel shell 1, and has abutments on its outer or inner surfaces to locate the refractory bush 7 and orifice block 5. Surfaces facing the vessel interior may be provided to locate the bush and block relative to the vessel shell, or the orifice block may abut the vessel shell. The inner surface of the annular member may be tapered, Fig. 5, and the external face of the bush is levelled by reference to the external face of the annular member. The vessel may have a sliding gate pouring valve.
