Table knives and forks. - In a combined knife and fork, which is for use in one hand, and in which the shank of the fork is capable of being receded into a hollow handle against the pressure of a coiled spring, the knife blade d has a curved handle d<1> pivotally attached at d<2> to the hollow handle a, so that the blade can be moved laterally across the prongs of the fork b to cut the food held by the fork. One or more of the prongs of the fork may be bent outwards in advance of the others, and the knife-blade may work in the space between the prongs. Some of the prongs may be arranged to have an extended bearing-surface on the food. The shank b<1> of the fork is removably held in the handle by screwed caps a<1>, a<2>, and, with the knife, may be removed for cleaning purposes.
