Abstract

Hand shears; horticultural knives.-Pruning- shears having a detachable convex edged cutting- blade D co-operating with a concave guard E have an auxiliary cutting-knife F attached by welding, rivets, or screws to the gua.rd. The knife is used to obtain a clean close cut after the shears have been used. The shears are provided with hand grips H and a finger support h, and the coiled spring G fitted between the handles A, B is carried by the handle B and has a roller g at its end engaging a plate b fixed to the handle A. A locking-clip and spring J is used to keep the handles together when not in use or when the knife F is being used. The pivot C is formed with a circular part engaging the handle A and blade D and a square part engaging the guard E.
