Reciprocating-saw machines. - In reciprocating-saw machines the guiding-frame d of the saw a is pivoted on supports independent of, but co-axial with, the shaft h from which the saw is reciprocated, thereby avoiding the loss of power due to the usual method of pivoting the frame on this shaft. This may be effected by providing brackets k with internal and external bearing-surfaces to receive respectively the shaft h, which carries the sawactuating crank g, and the bosses d' of the frame d. The saw may be fed vertically by means of a pinion engaging a rack p and adapted to be operated by a hand-wheel o.
