Reciprocating-saw machines. -Saw frames of the type in which single saws are generally used are provided with an additional joint in connexion with the saw-buckles, so that the equivalent of a universal joint is formed, and two saws can be evenly and simultaneously strained by a single straining-screw. The buckling-plates b, b' of the saws a, a<1> are secured by a common vertical pin d to a fork e which is hinged by an horizontal pin g to the jaw f<1> of the straining-screw. The upper saw a<1> is placed in the frame in advance of the lower saw a. The saws are guided in blocks k of wood or metal, preferably lignum vitµ, furnished with two slots k<1> and secured in adjustable holders m by set-screws n.
