1438712 Seating units for public halls B GUILLAUMOT 20 Aug 1973 [12 Sept 1972] 39206/73 Heading A4J A seating unit for use with other similar seating units in public halls comprises a base unit 1 provided with a housing 5 in which a folding seat may be housed when out-of-use and a support 2 on which the seat is supported when in use. The seat comprises a seat rest 3 and a backrest 6 pivotally connected to the front and rear ends, respectively, of a casing 7 pivotally connected to the base along the front edge of the housing such that the bottom 9 of the casing in the in-use position of the seat forms a lid which acts as a floor in the out-of-use position of the seat. The base may be supported on telescopically adjustable legs. The backrest may be stored below the seat rest to form a stool.
