Abstract

The invention relates to a stand-only/seat combination allowing grandstands to be fitted in a variable manner with standing places or seats provided with a back rest (2) and a collapsible seat plate (9) which is hingeably joined thereto. The stand-only/seat combination is characterized in that a cover plate (3) is arranged on and joined to the side of the backrest (2) facing the seat plate (9) in an approximately parallel position to said backrest (2). The invention is also characterized in that one of the edges of the cover plate (3) is rotationally connected to the riser (5) of one of the steps of the grandstand, whereby it can be shifted from a horizontal stand-only position into an approximately vertical seating position and fixing means are provided to hold the cover plate (3)/back rest (2) in a horizontal stand-only or vertical seating position.

DESCRIPTION

The invention relates to a sit-stand combination for converting stands with standing or seating, which is equipped with a backrest and a hinged seat plate.

The stands of sports stadiums and football stadiums are generally designed in a step-like manner, the individual steps being designed either as standing places or as seats with seat or bench elements arranged thereon.

Recently there has been an increasing requirement to make certain stadium areas convertible, so that either seating is available in this area or this area is available as a standing grandstand. Depending on the type of sporting event, the stadiums will be different

In order to convert standing stands into seating stands, it is already known to mount the seats on the stands if necessary and otherwise store them in a different location. This procedure not only has the disadvantage that a considerable amount of work is required to assemble and dismantle the chairs, which results in considerable costs. Rather, a large external storage space is also required for storing the chairs or seats at the times when the grandstand is used as a standing grandstand. It is also known to install a type of breakwater-like structure before every second stage. This construction has seats which are normally locked upright and can be folded away when necessary, so that seats are created. Such a construction is unpopular with the fans, since the usual flexibility and freedom of movement in standing room are restricted or canceled, which in turn leads to increased vandalism. In addition, such a construction offers little seating comfort and hinders the view for seated guests.

From DE 25 49 272 A1, grandstand seating is known from a plurality of bench elements arranged next to one another, the seat / standing bodies of which are each hinged and articulated. The sitting / standing bodies have at least one joint holder on the back with a pivoting range of 180 °. However, these known bench elements leave something to be desired in terms of comfort and ergonomics.

From GB 1438712 a stand-sit combination is also known, in which a seat plate is hinged to a backrest. However, both the backrest and the seat plate are sunk in a base body, which is a kind of housing. This housing is handled as a separate unit and placed on the seat step of the grandstand, so that the entire step is covered by this housing. In order to be able to use this well-known sit-stand combination, a step that is as level as possible is required. In addition, when used in bleachers that are not covered, it can easily be contaminated by rainwater and the like.

FR 397 527 describes a collapsible theater seat that can be quickly sunk into the floor of a hall or the like.

This known seat is not suitable for grandstands and especially not for uncovered grandstands, since it is necessary in this case would be to structurally change the step, which is usually made of concrete or earth.

A grandstand with step elements which can be displaced horizontally in a telescopic manner, on which seat or step surfaces are formed, is described in DE 36 14 983 A1. However, this is mechanically very complex and also requires a structural modification of the steps of grandstands.

It is an object of the present invention to provide a stand-and-seat combination with which grandstands and, in particular, uncovered stands can be converted from a seated grandstand into a standing grandstand and vice versa as required, without the existing structural structures of such grandstands having to be changed significantly, while at the same time meeting the highest demands for safety, comfort and ergonomics.

This task is solved by a standing-sitting combination according to the teaching of the claims.

The standing-sitting combination according to the invention has a backrest and a hinged seat plate. The corresponding folding axis is located near one of the edges (i.e. the lower edge related to the seating position) of the backrest. This principle is known and is implemented, for example, in folding chairs and the like.

On the side opposite the seat plate, the backrest has a cover plate which runs approximately parallel to the backrest and is connected to it. In the simplest case, it can be two plates that have a rectangular shape.

The cover plate is pivoted at one of its edges (rear edge) on the riser and thus the vertical front area of the step so that it is from an approximately horizontal standing position can be pivoted into an approximately vertical sitting position. In other words, the cover plate extends in the sitting position approximately parallel to the riser and is based on it. In front of the cover plate there is also an approximately vertical position with the seat plate hinged to it, which in the folded state also extends approximately vertically. To be able to sit on it, it is only necessary to fold down the seat plate.

In addition, fixation means are available which hold the cover plate and thus of course the backrest connected to it in the horizontal standing position and in the vertical sitting position.

The standing-sitting combination according to the invention divides the step of a grandstand into two sections of different heights. If the standing-sitting combination is in the standing position, visitors can stand on the back of the cover plate, which is in a horizontal position. A second row of spectators can then stand in front of this stand-and-sit combination on the step of the same grandstand.

When folded up and thus in the sitting position, not only this combination but also the feet of the seated person are on the same step.

With this arrangement, for example, the dead space of the step or the usually placed concrete body is used for the storage of the standing-sitting combination according to the invention. In addition, two rows of visitors can stand behind one another on the same step, but the person standing further back, who is no longer standing on the step as such but on the standing-seat combination according to the invention, due to this elevated position over the front look over at her standing person. The stand-and-seat combination according to the invention can thus also be used in the simplest constructed stands and open-air stands. It is only necessary that the cover plate is rotatably articulated or rotatably attached to the riser of the grandstand step. In the simplest case, this riser can be a concrete slab or a concrete block, while the step is formed, for example, by soil.

The standing / sitting combination according to the invention is therefore also ideally suited for use in uncovered stadiums. In addition, it is functionally simple and thus designed to be permanent. In the standing position, the essential mechanical parts are covered by the cover plate and protected from the weather. In addition, the backrest and the seat plate are in this standing position in a position spaced from the step, so that any water and other contaminants present on the step do not impair the functionality and cleanliness of the backrest and in particular the seat plate.

According to a preferred embodiment, the cover plate is movably connected to the backrest. This connection is such that the backrest in the plane formed by it can be moved parallel to the cover plate or pivoted in this plane, but remains in a parallel orientation. If the cover plate is rotatably articulated with its rear edge on the riser and thereby fixed in terms of height, then the backrest and thus the height of the seat plate and thus of the seat is defined as such. Due to the movable connection between the cover plate and the backrest, the backrest can be moved to a higher position in the sitting position and thus in the folded-up position with respect to the cover plate. For example, the backrest can be designed such that it can be displaced in parallel with respect to the cover plate. According to a further preferred embodiment, the cover plate is pivotally connected to the backrest via a pivot axis which extends approximately perpendicular to the plane of the cover plate and thus also the backrest. The edges of the backrest preferably do not protrude beyond the edges of the cover plate in the standing position. As a result, the backrest in the standing position is completely covered by the cover plate, so that no visitor can accidentally or intentionally step on the backrest from above. In addition, an advantageous side-by-side arrangement of the standing / sitting combination according to the invention is possible in this way, which will be discussed in more detail below. The cover plate is preferably rectangular. The same applies to the backrest, the corners of which are expediently rounded.

The cover plate can be held in the horizontal standing position in any way. This can be done, for example, with foldable legs or similar means. However, the backrest is preferably equipped with a support wall which is attached to that edge of the backrest, in the vicinity of which there is also the axis, about which the seat plate is hinged to the backrest. The width of this support wall preferably corresponds to the width of the cover plate.

The axis for folding the seat plate with respect to the backrest is then expediently arranged approximately at the angle which forms the support wall with the seat plate.

In the sitting position, the supporting wall represents a kind of abutment for the folded-down seat plate. In the standing position, the lower edge of the supporting wall comes to rest on the step and poses quasi the riser for the standing-sitting combination according to the invention in the folded down position and thus in the standing position.

The means which fix the cover plate in the vertical sitting position can also be conventional means, for example hooks which interact with eyelets and the like. Preferably, however, a pivotable pillar is used for this purpose, which acts on the support wall from below and thus supports the seating position. This pillar is preferably hinged to the step. After the cover plate and the backrest together with the seat plate have been brought into the sitting position, this pillar is folded up and supports the support plate from below and thereby also fixes the cover plate.

In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the pillar is designed in the manner of a bollard which has a spring mechanism which cooperates with a locking mechanism in the region of the step, so that the pillar can be securely locked and unlocked between the support wall and the step.

According to a further preferred embodiment, the pillar is pivotably articulated on the step in such a way that it supports the supporting wall on one of its lateral edges in the folded-up and thus vertical state. In this case, the other side edge of the support plate is supported on the support plate of the adjacent standing / sitting combination. This arrangement of the pivotable pillar ensures that in the folded state it is virtually completely below the cover plate in the standing position.

The cover plates of the standing-sitting combination according to the invention are preferably dimensioned in such a way that the covering plates of standing-sitting combination arranged next to one another adjoin one another as closely as possible in the standing position and thereby form a continuous standing surface or standing surface. The fixatives are then preferably arranged between the cover plate and the step below, as is already the case with the pillar explained above.

The support plates are also preferably dimensioned such that they form a continuous surface and thus a continuous step of the standing-sitting combination according to the invention in the standing position. In addition, means are preferably present which lock the standing-sitting combination according to the invention in the sitting position and in the standing position, so that the stadium visitors cannot undesirably open and use the standing-seat combination according to the invention or vice versa.

At the angle between the support wall 7 and the backrest 2, at which both abut, a seat plate 9 is pivoted about a clamping axis 11. The joint required for this is of a conventional type, well known to the person skilled in the art and can be of any design.

In order to bring the standing-sitting combination from the standing position shown in FIG. 1 (a) to the sitting position shown in FIG. 1 (e), the cover plate 3 is first pivoted or rotated upward about the joint 6 until it reaches the position shown in Fig. 1 (b).

The cover plate 3 is connected to the seat plate 9 so as to be pivotable about a pivot axis 12. This pivot axis 12 extends approximately perpendicular to the plane of the cover plate 3 and also the seat plate 9. The joint required to implement such a pivot axis is also of a conventional type and of a known nature. The pivot axis 12 is arranged in the area of the cover plate / backrest remote from riser 5. In relation to the stage shown in FIG. 1 (b), this means that the pivot axis is in the upper region of the cover plate 3 and seat plate 9.

The backrest 2 is pivoted by 180 ° in the plane formed by it or in which it lies, but remains aligned parallel to the cover plate 3 and connected to the latter. The position and thus the distance of the pivot axis 12 from the joint 6 and thus also the extent of the eccentricity is preferably adjustable and selectable, this is indicated by 18 in FIG. 1.

Then the pillar 13 (compare in particular FIGS. 2 (c) and (d)) is pivoted from a horizontal position into a vertical position in which it supports the support wall 7 on one of its lateral edges and in the vicinity of the step 4 ( 1 (d), the pillar 13 is pivotally connected to the step 4 by means of a joint 14. The pillar 13 is also arranged and dimensioned on the step 4 in such a way that its side edge 15 (see FIG Fig. 1 d)) rests approximately on the underside of the cover plate 3 and the latter fixed in the vertical position. The side edges of the support wall 7 are designed as shoulders 16, 16 '(compare in particular FIGS. 2 (c) and (d)). When the backrest 2 is pivoted about the pivot axis 12, the shoulder 16 comes to lie on a corresponding shoulder of an adjacent standing / sitting combination and is thus supported there. The other side edge of the support wall 7 is - as described above - supported by the pillar 13. The joint to form the folding axis 1 1 can be spring loaded, so that the seat plate 9 is folded in the unloaded state by the spring force on the backrest 2.

In order to keep the pillar 13 in the vertical position, it is fixed to the support wall 7 with the aid of a not shown lock, which can only be released with a special key.

To convert the standing / sitting combination according to the invention from the sitting position into the standing position, the steps described above are carried out in the reverse order. After the seat plate 9 has been folded up, the backrest 2 is pivoted about the pivot axis 12. Then the cover plate 3 is pivoted about the axis 6 from its vertical position into a horizontal position until the support wall 7 comes to rest in the groove 10. Due to the fact that the side edges of the support wall 7 have the shoulders 16, the support walls 7 overlap just as in the sitting position and in the standing position and result in a closed surface (see FIG. 2 (a)). A plurality of cover plates 3 can moreover be connected to one another in order to reduce the effort for folding up the cover plates 3 by the number of the cover plates 3 connected to one another being folded up or folded down at once.

If, as described above, several standing / sitting combinations 1 according to the invention are connected to one another to form a series of functions, then of course the first combination of this series of functions is supported only on one side by the pillar 13. On the other hand, since there is no subsequent standing / sitting combination 1, an additional support 17 must be provided, as indicated next to FIG. 1 (e).

In the embodiment described above, all the functional parts are in the standing position within the space which is delimited by the cover plate 3 and the support wall 7 on the one hand and on the other hand by the riser 5 and the step 4. These parts are thus protected, because only the cover plate 3 and the support wall 7 are accessible from the outside. In the case of a functional row, these result in a continuous surface.

In the embodiment shown in FIG. 3, a pillar 13 in the form of a bollard is pivotably articulated on a base base 19 via an articulated axis 14 ^' . This has a latching mechanism 20 into which a spring mechanism 21 of the pillar 13 in the form of a spring-loaded pin can snap when it holds the support wall 7 in the sitting position.
