1437349 Hot water boilers SHELL INTERNATIONALE RESEARCH MAATSCHAPPIJ BV 20 June 1973 [22 June 1972] 29337/72 Heading F4A In a hot water boiler comprising a substantially cylindrical furnace chamber 1 having a closure member 6 with a central opening for receiving a burner (not shown) a water jacket 10 surrounds the furnace chamber and between the water jacket 10 and the furnace chamber is an annular gas space 4 leading to an exhaust 9, the annular gas space 4 being formed with vertical radial baffles 5 and zig-zag baffles 11 radially extending within the gas space 4. A heat insulating layer 3 of slag wool is provided on the walls 2 of the furnace chamber.
