Abstract
1436050 Interlacing yarns RHONE-POULENC-TEXTILE 5 March 1974 [5 March 1973] 9896/74 Heading D1F Yarn passing through an interlacing zone of a treatment chamber is subjected to the action of at least one radial fluid stream having a flow with a rotational component the axis of which is perpendicular to the yarn axis. In the nozzle shown, yarn enters through a bore 31, exits through bore 28 and is treated in an interlacing chamber 3 to which gas or liquid under pressure is supplied as through pairs of pipe-lines 4, 5 and 6, 7. Swirling chambers 8, 9, 10, 11 are separately supplied with fluid (under similar or different pressure from the main fluid) through pipe lines, as at 14, and intersecting channels 15, 16, 17, 18, to develop auxiliary rotary fluid streams as added components to the main streams. The number of main and auxiliary streams and the balance therebetween may be adjusted e.g. by shutting off one or more channels 15-18 as by set screws in holes 19, 20, 21, 22, to vary the intensity and/or regularity of interlacing and/or to add (false-) twist effects. An exchangeable plate 25 may provide a yarn outlet having an abrupt convergence, Fig. 6 (not shown) and the nozzle may be divided over a diagonal plane of symmetry to provide two hinged portions which facilitate threading-up, Fig. 7 (not shown).
