Abstract

302,980. Bendixen, N. Sept. 24, 1927. Rotary apparatus.-A cen. trifugal sprayer for liquids or mixtures of liquids or semiliquids used for ageing, blending, sterilizing, homogenizing. emulsifying, or treating the liquids with gases, rays or chemical emanations, comprises a rotating body into which the liquid is fed having one or more outlets closed by gauze or perforated material so that it is broken into a number of fine jets or streams. In the form shown in Figs. 1 3 and 4, liquid is led through a conical inlet d into a body a provided with a number of radial passages b closed by a gauze cylinder e retained by a ring secured to the body by a bayonet joint h. In a. modification, Fig. 6, the body comprises twin spaced discs a<1>, a<2> provided with radial vanes f and carrying on their periphery a gauze cylinder e. The fineness of the spray may be varied by interchangeable gauze cylinders and by varying the speed of the apparatus.
