Abstract

1435556 Rotary positive displacement pumps ALFRED TEVES GmbH 26 July 1973 [26 July 1972] 35653/73 Heading F1F To reduce wear in a radial-vane type pump having a cam ring 13 for radial-vanes 11 of a rotor 12 and which is moved by a piston 23, actuated by the pump discharge via a line 24, from a first position into which it is biased by a spring 22 for maximum pump delivery to a second position in which the delivery is a minimum, the cam surface is formed by two circular arcs of different radii 16, 17 connected by transition cam surfaces 18, 19 and a suction port 18 and a delivery port 19 are located respectively in the regions of the transition cam surfaces. The two arcs 16, 17 are concentric with each other and, in the first position of the casing, they are concentric with the rotor. The radius of arcuate surface 17 preferably exceeds that of surface 16 by 2e where e is the stroke of the piston 23. The angle of are overwhich port 14 extends is preferably twice that of the port 15 and the transition cam surfaces are each formed by three sections extending over equal angles of arc and respectively representing a sinusoid, a straight line and a sinusoid.
