Abstract

1435215 Semi-rotary hydraulic actuators MITSUBISHI KINZOKU KK 19 Oct 1973 [21 Oct 1972] 48825/73 Heading G3P An hydraulic semi-rotary actuator comprises a housing 1 in which is rotatably mounted an output shaft 2 integrally formed with a rotor 7 having vanes 7A, 7B which together with abutments 6A, 6B of the housing define working chambers 30-33 inclusive, an input shaft 3 rotatably and coaxially located within an axial bore 12 formed in the output shaft 2 and a valve 50 which closes prior to a valve 8 to prevent the vanes contacting the abutments 6A, 6B. Valve 8 is formed by a pair of arcuate grooves 9A, 9B which are in the surface of the bore 12 and respectively communicate with pairs of working chambers 30, 32 and 31, 33 and co-operating grooves 11A, 11B in the surface of the input shaft 3 which are connected to axial ducts 14, 13 respectively. The valve 50 comprises grooves 19, 20 which are located in the outer surface of the output shaft 2 so as to communicate with a fluid supply bore 15 and discharge bore 16 and which are connected respectively to radial bores 21, 22 in the output shaft 2 and co-operating grooves 23, 24 in the surface of the input shaft 3 and in which ducts 13 and 14 terminate.
