1428651 Feeding bottles LEWIS WOOLF GRIPTIGHT LTD 3 May 1973 [5 Feb 1972] 5477/72 Addition to 1335381 Heading A5X An infant's feeding bottle comprises a container 10 having an outlet surrounded by a seating 12, a resilient teat 18 with an orifice 19, the teat 18 having a flange 17 engaging the seating 12 and secured to the container 10 to create a seal therewith, a removable cap 24 enclosing the teat 18, the cap 24 having an annular portion engaging the teat 18 to form a seal 25 therewith, a closure member 26 sealing the interior of the container 10, the closure member 26 being engaged by the teat 18 and having two axially spaced protrusions 27, 28 which, when the closure member 26 is displaced from its sealing position by manipulation of the cap 24, are located on either side of an internal projection 13 in the outlet of the container 10, to limit the movement of the closure member 26 and allow fluid to flow from the container 10 to the teat 18. The closure member 26 is hollow and open downwardly. The protrusion 27 is a cylindrical annulus and the protrusion 28 is a flexible non-circular skirt which may include four flats (31), Fig. 4 (not shown) or four rectangular cut-outs (32), Fig. 5, (not shown). A third flange 29 engages the projection 13 to seal the container 10 initially. A bead 23 on the cap 24 is seated in a complementary cavity defined by the teat 18 and a securing ring 20. Depressing the cap 24 dislodges the closure member 26 until the protrusion 28 is below the projection 13, thereby unsealing the opening.
