Abstract

1428445 Centrifugal pumps FRANKL & KIRCHNER FABRIK FUR ELEKTROMOTOREN UND ELEKTRISCHE APPARATE 10 Sept 1973 [9 Sept 1972] 42450/73 Heading F1C [Also in Division H2] A pump unit in which the pump 2 is directly driven by a commutator motor 1 has the motor completely sealed off from a surrounding cooling jacket 49 through which passes pumped liquid via an annular gap 73 between the pump rotor hub 65 and a connecting part 64, a chamber 74 and apertures (not shown) in a bearing shield 9. In addition the motor has an internal forced air cooling system including a fan 14 mounted on the motor shaft at the end remote from the pump. The unit may be completely enclosed in a portable sound insulating casing Fig. 6, (not shown). A centrifugal disc 34 associated with a water drain 36 protects the bearing 10 against leakage.
