Abstract

142,401. Yates, H. J., and Adnitt, W. D. Oct. 30, 1919. Atmospheric gas burners.-In a burner for producing an annular flame, a radially corrugated ring or rings are located at the outlet end of the burner head between a pair of ring or disk and parts having plain surfaces. Fig. 1 shows. a corrugated ring e arranged between the inclined upper edge of the burner body d and a disk f secured to the burner body c by a central screw g so that the gas outlet passages formed by the parts are inclined upwardly. The ring or rings may be formed with radial passages, in groups with intermediate blank portions, and the corrugations on one or both sides of the ring may be caused to merge for the production of single flames at each group of passages. In some cases, superimposed corrugated rings separated by plain rings may be employed.
