Abstract
28,572. Myhill, A. R. Dec. 11. Mantle supports.- Inverted mantles are supported on the burner at a single central suspension point, about which the mantle is free to swing. In the form shown in Fig. 1, the mantle - supporting frame e has a spike e<2> resting in a seating c on tile burner. The mantle ring d<2> is supported on the frame e by means of the usual lugs, or may be integral with the frame. Figs. 1 and 4 show two suitable forms of burner. In a modification, the burner is formed with a spike engaging a seating upon the mantle frame.
