Mantle supports.-In a burner head of an inverted burner in which a flanged upper part a has depending lugs d for engaging with upwardly and outwardly projecting lugs on the mantle ring, the lower part b of the burner head is also formed with outwardly extending supporting-lugs e, so that mantle rings having either outwardly or inwardly extending lugs or both may be supported. The bearing surfaces on the corresponding inner and outer lugs d, e are preferably at the same level and in the same radial direction. In one form, the depending lugs d are L-shaped with an upwardly projecting piece d<2> at their free end, and the external angles and the lower edges of the lugs d are rounded and curved. The outwardly extending lugs e may be grooved or corrugated on their outer faces for the passage of combustion products, and the lower edges of the lugs e are curved. The Provisional Specification refers to Specification 120,858.
