Abstract

4205. Harris, H. E. Feb. 19. Atmospheric gas burners. - In atmospheric gas burners of the kind described in Specification 11,071/08, [Class 126, Stoves &c.], the burner is made in two parts a, b, Fig. 3. The part a comprises a mixing-tube c, Fig. 1, communicating by a trumpet - mouthed passage e with a series of horizontal grooves d which are tapered as shown in Fig. 4. The front plate b is formed with a series of angular corrugated portions i, Fig. 3, which are provided on the underside with holes k at which the gas burns. The parts a, b are secured together by screws j. Gauze or other baffles may be placed in the passage e and grooves d. In a modified construction, a flat front plate is employed and has a series of ribs formed upon or fixed to its front surface.
