Abstract
1423533 Rolling mills; assembling force fits MANNESMANN-MEER AG 19 April 1973 [19 April 1972] 19179/73 Headings B3M and B3U [Also in Division F2] A guide roll 21 for a tube rolling mill mounted on its drive shaft 2 has apparatus for pushing it on and pulling it off its shaft comprising a piston and cylinder unit, of which the piston-rod 26 has a first detachable connection (e.g. a bayonet type fitting 24, 25, see Fig. 3, not shown) to the shaft, and of which the cylinder 27 has a second detachable connection (see Fig. 2, not shown) to an intermediate member 22, the first connection being maintained by a cotter 23 fixed between the member 22 and the piston-rod 26. The shaft 2 may be driven via gears 5, 36. The roll may be axially adjustable with a sleeve 9, prevented from rotating by a key 12 and having a part 10 engaging the threads 16 of a nut 17 rotatable by a worm 35.
