Abstract

1417812 Dry shavers H O MEYER 20 Feb 1974 [22 Feb 1973] 7646/74 Heading B4B An electric dry shaver comprises at least one rotatable cutter 8 for co-operation with a cutting foil 3 which, when viewed in cross-section, is formed with a central convex portion 4 connected to an annular bead portion 6 by an annular concave portion 5, the annular bead having hair entry slots 7 with which the cutter co-operates to sever the hairs. The edges of the cutter that engage the bead are formed with concave surfaces in the direction of rotation. Three identical cutting assemblies may be mounted in a shaver head, Figs. 1 and 2 (not shown), the assemblies being arranged on an arc, Fig. 1 (not shown) so as to conform more readily to the surface of a face.
