Abstract

1411280 Feeding webs CEKELUND 14 Nov 1972 [18 Nov 1971 5 Jan 1972] 52452/72 Heading B8R Apparatus for dimensional control of webs, e.g. controlling tension of fed webs to prevent stretching, comprises an endless belt A spaced from a second conveying means B, and a sensing means K disposed between the conveying means A, B to monitor the size of a web loop formed between the means A, B and maintain the loop at a preset value by controlling the rate of web feeding the endless belt A. The conveying means B may be in the form of an endless belt or a roller M and the belt B may be pivotable. The sensing means may be photo-electric.
