Abstract

940,187. Feeding sheets and webs. BOBST-CHAMPLAIN S.A. March 13, 1961 [March 11, 1960], No. 9124/61. Heading B6B. [Also in Divisions B3 and B8]. Strip 3 is rendered stationary beneath a vertically reciprocating platen 1 by looping devices on either side of the platen interposed between rotary members e.g. rollers 8 and 9, the looping devices consisting of eccentrically mounted rollers 15 and 16 driven in synchronism with the platen, such that as one loop 13 lengthens the other 14 shortens and vice versa. The eccentricity of the rollers may be adjusted by a bolt 61, Fig. 10 (not shown), having a square head 60. In another embodiment for feeding sheets and other plate or like objects from a stack 70, Fig. 11, an endless belt 66 is rendered stationary beneath a platen 68 by eccentric rollers 78, 79. Protuberances 73 such as stops, grips, gripping bars or other means for securing conveyance of sheets &c. from the stack 70 are provided on the belt 66. The rotary members may be chain wheels or pulleys when the looping devices operate on chains and feed belts respectively.
