Abstract

962,517. Packaging tow. MONSANTO CHEMICAL CO. Dec. 11,1962 [Dec. 18, 1961], No. 46662/62. Heading D1F. Tow 17 is laid in a rectangular container 18 by means of a shoot 13 which oscillates to and fro in a direction perpendicular to the reciprocation of a conveyer 14 which feeds the tow from a feed shoot 36 to the shoot 13. Ladder conveyer 14 driven by motor 44 through rollers 40 is mounted at its upper end on a carriage 12 which reciprocates on rails 22 through a link 62 attached to an endless belt 59 driven by motor 66. The lower end of the conveyer is supported on bearings 30 and is guided in a slot 34 parallel to the oscillation of the shoot by the base 33 of a pin attached to a bracket 31 of the conveyer frame.
