Abstract
1410426 Fenders BRIDGESTONE TIRE CO Ltd 8 Feb 1973 [10 Feb 1972] 6205/73 Heading B7S [Also in Division F2] A ship fender, of elastomeric material and to be fixed (as by flanges 16) to a quay, has side walls 13 and a wall which provides a surface 12 for contacting a ship and has a rib 17 extending lengthwise between the walls 13. A groove 17<SP>1</SP> in the surface 12 is opposite the rib 17. The flanges 16 may each have an embedded metal plate or a washer may be provided at each bolt 15. The ship-contacting surface 12 and the rib 17 may be rounded.
