Abstract

When the rubbe buffer strip is to be used to protect walls from vehicles such as lorries backing up to a loading bay, it is fixed to a vertical face (11). The strip is dome shaped with a flat base. From the base there is a slot which runs into the centre of the strip. At the centre the slot widens into a cavity. The overall shaped of the slot is S shaped. A metal S shaped hook in the wall engages the strip. To put the strip on to the hook the slot is opened to allow the hook to be inserted. When the strip is used as a lane marker on roads the dome shape ha s a tail added.
