Abstract

1410135 Frame joints EGO WERKE AG 9 July 1973 [10 July 1972] 32530/73 Heading E1J [Also in Division F2] A connector for mitred frame members 1, 2 comprises inserts 3, 4 connectable to respective members and having interengaging teeth 16, 17 and divergent surfaces 10, 11 and a wedge member 5 engagable with the surfaces and displacable in the direction of the mitre 19 to draw the frame members together. Each piece 3, 4 comprises a toothed member 8, 9 and a bracket 6, 7 partly overlapping the teeth and with outer divergent surfaces 10, 11. Wedge member 5 is of C-shaped cross-section with inclined opposite side surfaces engaging surfaces 10, 11. A slot 20 allows a portion of bracket 7 to be bent up to retain member 5. Angle brackets 12 each have one leg secured to a respective frame member, or alternatively toothed brackets (24, Figs 4, 5 not shown) are connected by a bolt (27) which may be wedgeshaped. The frame members are metal, wedge 5 and bolt 27 are of metal or plastics.
