Abstract

1,069,766. Window frame corner joints. QUICKTHO ENGINEERING Ltd. Sept. 10, 1965 [Oct. 15, 1964], No. 42077/64. Heading E1J. A corner construction includes two frame members meeting at an angle the adjacent ends of which are engaged by a corner bracket comprising flanges 14, 15 each formed with a transverse groove or grooves 16 of V cross-section, the frame members having deformed parts 17 to engage therein. The flank of each groove 16 on the side adjacent the apex of the bracket 14-15 is inclined at a shallower angle than the opposite flank, which may be approximately perpendicular to the adjacent flange surface or undercut e.g. at approximately 70‹ to the plane of the flange. The other flank may be at an angle of approximately 20‹. The bracket 14- 15 may be initially extruded and each frame member has a main flange 10, engaging against a flange 14 of the bracket 14-15, and from which side flanges 11 project to engage edges of the flange 14, respectively received in slots provided because of lips 13 on the flanges 11.
