Abstract

1,155,648. Glazing assemblies. DEXION Ltd. 8 Dec., 1967 [22 Dec., 1966], No. 57529/66. Heading E1R. A glazing assembly comprises hollow frame members 2 of metal or hard plastics, one side of which has a platform 6 for receiving one edge of the pane 7 and an upstanding flange 5 against which a marginal portion of one face pane 7 can bear and at the opposite edge of the frame member 2 a hook formation 8 is provided with which a clip or bead 9 of springy plastics engages by a suitably formed edge 11, and with a portion 19 which bears against the pane. The platform may be undercut with a groove 18 which receives a projection 17 of the clip and the flange 19 is of more flexible material than the remainder of the clip and can be extruded as an integral whole from suitable types of P.V.C. In an alternative construction the items 5, 6, 8, 18 are formed integrally with the hollow frame member and may be provided on two adjacent sides either of the tubular member or of an auxiliary member as shown at 2, to fit over the tubular member, the flanges 5 being adjacent the same longitudinal edge of the frame or auxiliary member.
