Abstract

1315655 Frame side members; glazing FINMARK Ltd 19 May 1970 [23 June 1969] 31631/69 Headings E1J and E1R A frame side member and panel mounting assembly is constituted by a hollow or solid extruded plastics or aluminium bar 10 provided on one side with a rib 11 having on one or both sides a groove 17, 18 and a separate channelled panel support member 20 having a base 21 adapted to seat on the face of the bar bearing the ribs a stop flange 22 for the panel 24, and a flange 23 which engages the rib; and a clip 28 of extruded metal or plastics adapted to span the rib and engaging flange and extend into the space between the rib 11 and flange 22 to hold the panel in position, the clip having a rib 33 to engage in the groove 18. In an alternative form the clip may be of substantially U-shape. The support member 20 may have a further control flange to provide for two parallel panes or doors, either or both being slidable. A further rib 35 may be provided on one of the other sides of the bar 10. Both ribs 11, 35 may be integral with or welded to the bar 10.
