Abstract

1374761 Window and door frames IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 2 Nov 1971 [20 Nov 1970] 55247/70 Heading E1J A plastics frame comprises a first frame member having an end with spaced apart sides 1', 2' and a transverse portion 3' with an outer surface in a plane intersecting mitred surfaces, and a second frame member having a flange 5 fitting between the sides and engaging the outer surface. The frame members are generally U-shaped with a stepped base and flange 5 is stepped and extends at right angles to the second frame member. The frame members are secured by a screw extending through a hole 6 in the flange and into a transverse upstand 7, or alternatively by adhesive. Adjacent frame members may be joined back to back (Fig. 5, not shown) by bolts through aligned studs 10. The plastics material is preferably glass fibred reinforced polyester resin.
