Abstract

1409815 Developing electrostatic latent images XEROX CORP 16 Nov 1972 [17 Nov 1971] 52948/72 Heading G2H Electrostatic latent images are developed by magnetic brush carried by rotating sleeve 31, which may be electrically biased or have a co-operating electrically biased electrode, operating in an electrically conductive housing 21 held at the same polarity and potential as the biased sleeve or electrode. Circulation of developer is assisted by magnetic brush lifting unit 40. The outer sleeve 41 of the lifting unit 40, the housing 21 and the sleeve 31 may be held at the same potential, which may be charged between a level greater than that of the background potential on xerographic drum 10 and a level at or below that of the background potential.
